Tools I Actually Use
Not a comprehensive list — a working one
- Claude and ChatGPT — Pick one and get good at it before adding another. Switching constantly is how people stay beginners.
- NotebookLM — Upload your own documents and ask questions against them. The one I teach most often, because it solves a problem people actually have.
- Otter.ai — Meeting transcription. Quiet time-saver that pays for itself in a week.
- Perplexity — For research where you need to see the sources.
Worth Sitting Down With
Longer form, when you want depth instead of headlines
- Co-Intelligence — Ethan Mollick. If you read one book on this, read this one. It’s about working with AI, not about the technology.
- A Guide to Prompting AI — A single article that will change how you talk to these tools.
